Are U protected?

Ladies, Have U or have not heard of Gardasil? It is an Anti Cervical Cancer vaccine. Are U protected? Cervical cancer which is caused by HPV, is one of d most common causes among us women.
How did I come across Gardasil? Via Radio. I was picking my girl up from kindy, a Gynae was giving a talk about Gardasil & I figured, why not? I have nothing to lose. Immediately, I rang a good friend of mine & wanting her opinion about it...before I could carry on our conversation, She said - I've completed d vaccination. I am protected for life! I went "WoW!" Next thing U know, I made an appointment to see my Gynae & he then explained d whole chapter 1 - chapter 10.

Ok, I am In...I took d most expensive 3 Jabs. There are 2 different types of Anti Cervical Cancer Jabs. 1 that comes with only 2 Jabs has lower immunity & d other (expensive) comes in 3 Jabs has more immunity. *3 Jabs within 6 months*

My very 1st dose was a painful one. OOOOuuch!! My arm ache for nearly 3 full weeks! But I continued doing my laundry, folding clothes & cooking. It has left a muscle ache feeling.
2nd dose, 2 months after my 1st Jab. No pain! I felt alright!
3rd dose, d final 6th month, OOOUCHHHHHH! My arm aches! Gosh...do I have to go through weeks again bearing d pain??Waaaa! waaaa!! Horrid!!

I started taking d Jab last year at RM1000.00. The prices will apparently drop. My good friend took d jabs 2 years ago at RM2000.00! I didn't want to wait any longer, nor risk my life on d casino board. Would U?

Did U know, Now, Gardasil has been approved by our goverment to vaccinate all school girls under 12 years old? They are given d lower dose in primary schools. Thumbs up!! Hooray!

By the way, If U are not vaccinated yet, Please ring your nearest Gynae for an appointment. Gardasil Jabs are not recommended for women above 40 years of age. Take it while U are still young.
*No Gain, No Loss*
Hmmmmm...Do I sound like a Gardasil Ambassador? LOL!

Living in Singapore..

I bet my heading of d title would have 'con' most of you would'nt it? LOL!

We have been travelling to Singapore, 'Singapura' numerous times but d last family trip was a great 6-day holiday getaway!
Singapore Airport

Oh well, hubby was at work daily..so its just Me & me Babies! Thank god for "Blessed" friends in Singapore! U Rock ladies! U know who U are...! We had so much fun together! Especially our Ladies Night* Oh, our kids too!

This trip was slightly 'Twisted' but was a great holiday for Me & me Babies..most importantly d kids get to be with their beloved superbly BZ Papa. Yes...he's office is Singapore based.

We were putting up at 'Royal Hotel' which is located in Newton Road. Hubby decided on d hotel beacause his office was just a flash away. Only 10 minutes walk without taking MRT. How convenient! Plus, there are 2 shopping malls (Novena & United Square) nearby which take another 10 minutes walk. But with my lil angels....it all adds up to roughly 20 minutes walk. *WinK* Needless to say, Newton Road & its surroundings are like "Bangsar" back home.

Royal Hotel
Novena Shopping Mall

Throughout our stay, we quite like d hotel other than having loads of Jam Pack Tourists! Oh, somehow d hotel is however 'still' stuck back in time....1970's?1980's? KTV lounge with all d plastered posters & d other half of d lobby was pretty OK.. Oh well, nothing compared to Swissotel City Hall! That's 1st class! Anyway, could U imagine, d very 1st day of our stay...my hubby had to bring his breakfast tray up to our room? D cafeteria was flooded with tourists!! Help!! Luckily it only happened on d very 1st day. Geeesh! Never had such experience! But we had a good stay, no doubt! Staff were pretty friendly but its a jam packed hotel.

Hmmmmm...how did WE spend our entire stay in Singapore? Here it goes ......

Mini MerLion

Check Out Merlion's Eyes! Roaring Green!
Singapore Flyer!

We're d TOP of d WORLD!

D very 1st night, we adjourned to Merlion Park in Marina Bay. Oh, d ambience is just "Priceless" feel of d wind, lights & people around us are unforgetable.
However, we didn't get to see d Huge Merlion because it was under construction. We managed to capture some shots with d Baby Merlion instead! Hahhaha!! Guess it is only 5ft tall? Did u know there are 5 Merlion's in Singapore itself? Yes, I googled it.

Next stop, Singapore Flyer! My kids will say - Merry Go round - Mommy! Papa! I want to go to d Merry Go Round! Here we are!! It is actually our 2nd time experiencing d Singapore Flyer. Hmmmm...it is kind of boring after a while. Nevertheless, Kids had a blast overlooking d Indonesia & Johor straits. We were at d top of d world!

Should we or should we not? Nope....I didn't proceed with my plan A. Was thinking of taking my kids to see 'Pink Dolphins' in Sentosa Island. My hubby was busy working so I didn't dare to take my chances. Many questions were unanswered. Anyway, we have actually been there last year but we missed d 'Dolphins'.
Anyhow, no hurry, we shall wait for d right suitable time.

Just d 3 of us...

Kids & I have our breakie in d hotel, same old food & nothing new. Kids ll hv their cereal, toasted bread & fruits! I didn't eat much but what I really needed was my COFFEE! Im a coffee lover, apart from my Hubby. Haha! *Wink*

Breakfast time!
Kids snack time! Spot Cotton On???

After Breakie, it is already mid morning. We will then start our "Slow, memorable" walk to d nearest mall which is called Novena. Novena reminds me of 'Atria & Bangsar Mall'. Nothing much to offer, but there are 2 Gorgeous brands that I really like. "COTTON ON" & "CHARLES n KEITH"! Aaaahhh...despite Cotton On having a lil cheap sale, no doubt their clothes, shoes are way cheaper than back home! I am sure U have guessed right!! Yes, I shopped but not till I drop!! LOL!

Next stop, Charles & Keith.......Blink* Wink* heaven, paradise Island :D I love their so called 'designer' handbags & shoes.......so up to date! Chic, stylish, GLAM! I didn't buy any shoes frm C&K cos I think they are too pretty for my cute lil' feet! LOL! Naaaa, I am a fulltime home maker, devoted wifey & a mother.....so I am all set for my 3 pairs of comfy shoes back home* I bet most of U, Jaw dropped?? Hence, I bought bags!!I adore, I love, I like....My favourite qoute* How many? Let's play a guessing game!
Yes, I do still use my old time Fav' Coach but women being women..bag fetish! ;p

Kids & I will have a nice cheap lunch at d food court. We like d Japanese prawn & chicken set, it was on promotion SGD5. Oh well, just eat...do not think about conversion! If not, tummy upset??Hehehe..
Mmmmmm...YUmmy!

After our nice meal, we will then head back to d hotel ...another slow 'brisk' walk. By the way, it is so much safer than back home! Would U even step out of your house & walk to d nearest mall feeling secure & not needing to 'look left, look right, look back' Is anyone following us? Oh, pepper spray all prepared too? Sigh...My biggest Wish * Safety Please* Even d cabbies are safe. Back home? Once we get in d cab, call our family to notify d cab's number or be extra alert! Seriously, we don't have that in "US" in Singapore.

Ok, Nap time! Kids...hurry! Sleep! If not, U wont be able to meet your friends tonight. Basically our daily routine was d same...I was'nt too adventurous this trip. I stayed close by to our hotel, didn't even step a leg to Orchard Road. Hey, I was with my 2 angels...Cannot have 1 missing in action aye? Or 1 stuck in d MRT? Oh no no...dont even want to think about it! Gives me goose bumps!

Yay! Meeting with my friends! I basically met my good friends during lunch & dinner daily. My bridesmaid & ex colleague I have known for more then 10 years are living her life to d fullest in Singapore. Congratulations my dear! Wedding bells!...hence, So much joy & memories to cherish with my girlfriends. I am indeed blessed to have met such great ladies! U know who U are :D chuckles!
One of my girlfriend even drove me around town...that was so thoughtful of her. Her lil angel gets on really well with my angels. So much laughter together. She has a helpful maid that takes care of d kids when 'both' mommies are shopping. I miss those days!

United Mall is a well known Family mall. Mostly children's clothings & food outlets. There are also alot of little amusement rides for d kids. What I really like is d Play - Dance Mat with Disco lights! Kids will go all crazy for it!
Do the Beat kids!
Hello Thomas d Train!

My 2nd love, Cotton On Kids. I bought heaps of clothes! Tutu's are too cute to missed! Cheap shirts & pants are up for grabs! SGD10-15?? Why not? Hey, after conversion it is still way cheaper. As mentioned in my past Blogs, Shopping for my babies is my favourite 'past-time'. Have you heard of FOX, Ginger Snaps & Bloom B? Such Beautiful clothes! I bought 2 beautiful 'Tutu' like hair bands from FOX for my princess. Ginger Snaps are a little bit pricey so I was being good....nothing purchased;p Bloom B? Not this time around. My pocket has shrunk & d charcoal smell is pretty strong across d south china sea! LOL!
Part of d shopping for my Kids.

We practically felt so homey staying in Royal Hotel. D cleaners were pretty caring & played with my kids too! Such warm people.

I managed to squeeze in some time to meet with my cousin brother. He is a soon-to-be Daddy! Congrats cous, if u are reading.

SAD...SAD...We're finally leaving :( After spending 6 days in Singapore, it has become part of us like a 2nd home! Hubby, any chance of us living there? Hehehe....
Kids! write a note & put it in d wish jar!
I thought I said Wish Jar?! Not a Wishing BALL??!

Travelling Overseas Together...

My hubby & I have travelled several countries, since our courtship years. If you have followed my blog closely, we have been in each others arms for 14 years.

Lets begin with d places I have been on my own. Note, the places we have travelled, are all summarised. Certain trips are pretty cloudy in my mind...which I vaguely remember. Photos are all taken via online search. Some hard copies are being kept in d storage junk yard!

I have visited Melbourne & Sydney Australia numerous times. I have also been to Buenos Aires & Rosario Argentina as an exchange student. Yet, not forgetting Singapore which is d closest so-called overseas trip..yeah just a few hundreds of kilometers away ;p

Therefore, Hubby & I have been to countries such as Brisbane Australia, Los Angeles USA, Seoul Korea, Shanghai China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand & Singapore...hmmmm...what else did I miss? Anyway, these are d "overseas" trips we've travelled so far. Well, as for places like Pangkor, Sabah, Penang, Langkawi are all within Malaysia ... guess I could just leave that out from my list. It is way too long & not necessarily..Wink*Wink* Anyway, stick to d "Overseas" topic.

I would say my most memorable trip was "DISNEYLAND" Los Angeles USA! I have taken photos with d entire Disneyland & all d famous cartoon characters in d entire world! Cinderella!! Mickey Mouse!! Snow White!! Woody woodpecker! Yes, U name it, we've candid those memories! Oh, not leaving out "UNIVERSAL STUDIOs" baby! Wooohooooooo! I have taken a shot with Mr Beatle Juice too! Do u remember him? D white & black stripe suit with d funny looking whitish face & panda eyes? Superman! Spiderman! Xena!
Friends who have visited my house would have seen d photos with the super heroes hanging on my staircase wall! I guess that is where we regained our childlike 'ness' *

Shopping! Shopping was insane! Madness! Shopping Paradise! We would spend hours & days shopping at Factory Outlets. Levis were d trend back then & we grabbed several pairs for RM40-50 each pair. DKNY, Guess Marciano, Timberland, Calvin Klein, GAP, Bobbi Brown Make-up & ...... so much much more! It was sooo darn cheap! After conversion, anywhere between RM20-30! Timberland at RM40?!? Is'nt it worth d trip? We went with an empty large suitcase & 2 mini foldable bags..guess what? They were all filled with Goodies! JOY! New clothes, bags, make-up & shoes! Oh, I have to mention this that my Good friend is living in d USA & her house is just 15minutes away from d Factory Outlet. How lucky! Good friend, if U are reading this...hehe...Don't forget to bring back goodies for us:D Shall I come visit U soon? *WinK* So u know, we've been BFf's since primary days!

Believe it or not..our "USA" trip was roughly a zillion 9 years ago??? We were touring & holidaying in USA for 2 good memorable weeks :D
After, jet lag remedies! It took me 2 full weeks to recover...** some shots ..

Tell me your thoughts on Beauty Make Over's..

Did u know I am a qualified Make-up Artist other than a Beautician & a Fashion Designer? Yes, I hold 3 qualifications. These are all my love & passion other than my beautiful family.

After graduating from my Make-up course, I worked with a Makeover Studio for 12 months to gain as much experience as I could. I needed d knowledge & d limelight of working with a photographer. I need to learn d art, technique & magic of Make-up that could actually changed 'One's' look after d entire process behind d photography scene. Thinking back, I actually took d right step to work in a Makeover Studio. Not only concentrating on 'One's face, I however did d 'Styling' & 'Choreographed' d photoshoot. I was basically running d entire show other then working closely with d photographer. Hey, I come in a package! Oh, not forgetting..I do hair too.

After sometime, I ventured out on my own. I printed my very own namecards too! Wow! It feels great giving people my very own namecard! I could still remember d card I printed was in lilac tone & it says - "Professional Make-up Artist" - OOOOoolala!! Isn't it glamourous?
Yes, as a free lance Make-up Artist, I have done d whole load of 'Make-up'! I was working closely with Fashion Magazines, Fashion Shows, Advertising, Events, Bridals & consultations with companies. I have worked closely with our local Top Models & Top Celebrities..(names are not mentioned) No free publicity or comission here ;p LOL!
I even "Groom" ordinary ladies to be d next 'Glamourous' woman in town! Wink* Hey, again...I come in a package!

Here I am sharing & giving U some twist on Make-up that never goes out of date. Oh Yes baby! Make-up are like Fashion! They come & go!
  • U dont have to own High Fashion Make-up Brands to enchance your look. Any brand of 'Make-up' works wonders*
  • If U cannot afford sable brushes, do opt for d cheaper ones. All U need is just "5" Make-up Brushes. They are "Powder Brush", "Eye Brow Brush", "Blusher Brush", "Fluffy Eyeshadow Brush" & "Lip Brush".
  • Always apply sunscreen with high UV's & moisturiser as a base. Make-up base is not a compulsory*
  • Natural light is important such as Sun light & fluorescent lighting. Never apply Make-up under Orangey light.

It is however important that U find d right Foundation shade. Just test it between your cheekbones & jawline only.
Here are some tips on Daily - 'Simple, Easiest, Fastest' Make-up just within "10 Minutes"! Do apply your base, Foundation & Loose Powder 1st. Never skipped this major steps. U would'nt want to look blotchy or have skin discolourations, would U?

To achieve a Natural Look -
  • Draw your Brows.
  • Go Gold on d eyes. People tend to think, What?! Gold???Isn't it too strong? Gold tends to open up your eyes. It does enchance your eyes. Apply 1 or 2 layers. U do not need a highlighter.
  • Curl your lashes, Mascara just d top lashes.
  • Blusher
  • Pinkish or Peachy Lip Gloss
To achieve a "Do take ME seriously" Look -
  • Draw your Brows
  • 2 Eyeshadow shades. (Your Pick so long it falls on d warm shades) I will go for Medium Brown & Off White shade. Apply d darker shade at d entire eye socket area. Then apply d lighter shade just below your eye brow to work has a highlighter.
  • Eye Liner, go for deep brown or black. Do line d upper eye lid. Not compulsory for d bottom liner.
  • Mascara
  • Blusher
  • Glossy Lipstick. Do not attempt d pure matte lips, unless U really wanna draw attention. LOL!
To achieve d "Sultry Hot Mama" Look -
Oh, this is my favourite! U may take longer then 10mins if U are not used to applying heavy Make-up. Nevertheless, practise makes wonders*
  • Drow your Brows.
  • 2 Eyeshadow shades. (Go for Vampish shades) My personal favourite - Navy Blue & silver white shades. Apply d darker shade on d entire eye socket area, apply a fine thin line on your bottom lashes. Then apply d lightest shade below your eye brows as a highlighter.
  • Line your eyes. My pick would be deep green or a navy blue eye liner. Line d entire eyelid & bottom lashes. U may use a cotton bud to smudge d bottom eye lashes for a smoky effect.
  • Fake Lashes/Falsies a MUST for a dramatic LOOK. Its to die for :D
  • Blusher
  • Hint of Lip Gloss makes wonders* If U want to draw attention, do go for a deep magenta glossy lipstick.

Have U decided which look suits U best? Hehehe...Oh, Do "NOT" apply Make-up in d car! Please, always make time for yourself at home before U head out for any event or work. If U are one of them, have U actually realise that Your 'Face' is pretty 'Imbalanced'? Look closer..;p To be honest, I have spotted many .. many .. *Slap Slap*
Anyway, I am a person who believes strongly on Make-up. Without them, we are just too plain! Could U imagine yourself attending a Job Interview with just plain face & a lipstick?? I am sorry, U would look like a total slop! U may have spoken well with all d charisma but have U checked if U have d 'front desk' look?
Did U know 'Make-up' does play an Important role in our life? Check with your bosses, hubby or your colleagues. Thus, does your man prefers U to look like U just woke up from "Bed Look" to go dating with him? If U are one of them, I strongly advice U to change. Do U noticed your man is checking out d hottest babes in d malls? Your dressing counts, my dearest* Please take d effort to look 'Pretty' & not 'Sloppy'. Time management is the KEY. Not because U have children, your days are over. Don't let that Fall on U.
Never ever leave your Make-up back home while away on a Holiday. U do still want to look your best in certain photos don't U?

So to all my beautiful ladies out there...Yes U & everyone of U are "Beautiful" do take my advice & dress appropriately to make "Oneself" d Best.

Lastly, I did my own "Hair & Make-up" on my Wedding.

I discovered "COOKING"

I am just like everyone else..1st step learn how to Fry Egg. 2nd step Maggie Mee. 3rd step Boil Rice. 4th step Porridge. 5th step GET LAZY!

When did You actually started cooking? I mean .. ACTUAL??

I took up cooking seriously just few years back. I learnt & observe from my 'Sifu' who is my Mother. Occasionally, I tend to ring my aunty up for cooking tips. I used to cook dinner 5 days a week in my parent's house. Ahhh, with all d supervision needed from my mother. Hence, today .. I have 'mastered' d art of cooking! Elaine can cook :D Hehehe...I actually do love to cook! I feel motivated every day! I have finally found a new 'interest' in my life.

This is my philosophy "I took up cooking not because its Fun, But it is for my loved ones especially my little angels." I feel cooking has actually brought us even closer .. such as laughing out loud & all d silly comments. Whenever my angels finished d meals I prepared, I feel absolutely "HAPPY", giving me comments like "YUMMY", "MY FAVOURITE", "I LOVE IT".. I feel that as a woman, a mother, I have done so much for my angels. Even my hubby will throw comments like "WOW! THIS ACTUALLY TASTES BETTER THEN MY MOM'S COOKING"..ooooops!

We tend to tease each other during our meal time too* Oh, we do chat alot during our meals together. Its also part of our "bonding process" .. Wink*  We talked about work, kids, future etc..
Oh well, I do get Ugly comments from my hubby & kids too. LOL! I take it as a compliment so I can brush up on my cooking skills!

When it comes to cooking, I am pretty adventurous. I hope to be an overnight 'Chef' someday! Hahhaha! Hey, most people are ambitious. So this is partly what I want to be...In-House Chef * copy rights reserved :p Call me old fashioned, I do hope someday, one day .. My kids & grandkids will come home for a nice family dinner.
