Oasia Hotel, Singpore

It was mid-term school holidays, we have decided to tag along hub's biz trip to our 2nd home.

Oasia Hotel is so new, not many cab drivers are aware of d location. Each time we took a cab, we have to direct - Oasia Hotel at Novena Medical centre or TSH hospital. Yeap, TSH is just opposite & Novena medical centre is just sited at d 2nd floor. Plus, there is also a link to Novena Square shopping mall. Oasia is in between Novena Square & VeloCity. If you were to walk 10 minutes ahead, United Square (Kids shopping district) is just opposite Novena Square. Well, Orchard is not far either........it takes about 15 minutes cab ride.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly PR guest relations officers. Apparently, most of d staff are very experienced from another 5-star hotel in Singapore! But...after a terrible flight due to bad weather, d lifts were not working! Gosh! Yes...it is newly opened, about 18 days. We were then escorted to take d emergency lift.

Aaaaaahhhhhh........at last! D room is beautiful, cozy & comfortable! Thumbs up for d colour & interior designs. Of course, most importantly is d bathroom......layout is beautiful with d latest trends.

We have a dashing fabulous view ever! D pool & d garden walkway is 'Spectacular!' Kids & I could not resist d pool! Plus, indoor pools located at d executive lounge........I am speechless! This is what I call - Holiday! - Wink*

Breakfast was nothing interesting, just like any ordinary American breakfast. We had our breakfast at d Executive Lounge cos d Cafe was'nt fully functional. Staff were helpful & friendly!

D hotel has'nt had its 'Grand Launch'. D launch should be at end of June 2011........d cafe, lounge, and ballroom will be opened to guests then. So, we're d pioneers huh?

Overall view & comments .......... Stay to remember! We will be back Oasia!

Enjoy d pics I've taken : )

Zipper Bags

I don't usually do this but 'We' just got to have Zipper bags in our house. From S - XL sizes! LOL!

Found out that there will be a 'Water Cut' for d next few days.......Instead of Me preparing breakfast d next day, why not prepare d 'Sandwiches' d day before? Set aside in d fridge, bread, veggie & ham would still be fresh d very next morning. So, it is Hassle free - Less cutlery n plates to wash d very next day! Thank u inventors!

Btw, 'We' usually carry Zipper bags whenever we travel. Never know, your tooth paste or whatever liquid may leak & there goes part of your suitcase. Hassle free!

Tripple Decker Gypsy Belly Ham for me Hubs & Double Decker for me.

Chef for d Nite!

My mom's Birthday is just around d corner. Me being myself as usual, will get all excited even though it is not my birthday. Usually I am d person who plans d family birthday dinners & gifts. We would dine in some fancy restaurant, order a few dishes here & there & celebrate d nite with a cake!...But....this time around, I thought...........I should take charge of being d 'Chef'! I did!

My menu for d nite was pretty simple ~

Appetizers

Pasta in Extra Olive Oil, Italian Garnishing, Prawns, Olives, Broccolis, Cherry Tomatos, Garlic, Bacon & Bbq Pork Sausages.
Sweet Corn
Fried Wonton

Main Dish

American Fish & Chips with Crew Cut French Fries

Dessert

Tiramisu Birthday Cake
Black Coffee

~  Red Wine to be SERVED throughout d nite ~

I started working in Elaine's Kitchen at 1pm all d way to 4pm. I rested & freshened up for a good 1.5 hours. I then continued in Elaine's Kitchen at 5.30pm to 6.45pm. It would be way faster if I had a helper or a maid to do d washing up & preparation. I chose to handle it all by myself. My hub's was babysitting d 2 'precious' upstairs as I did not want any disturbance.
Once my family arrived, they were all seated at d dining hall & appetizers were served with a glass of red wine. I then headed back to Elaine's Kitchen to fry d main dish which were 'Fishes'! I had already prepared d crew cut fries earlier. Once done, I finally joined my family for a nice dinner.

Dinner was done! Please, leave d washing of dishes & cleaning up to ME. Yes, stacks & stacks of plates & cutlery with no hassle. My family was enjoying their time playing & spending quality time in my family hall.
I waited until everyone's tummy had some space for my Yummylicious TiraMisu!

Now, this was d time everyone was waiting for! Elaine's Yummylicious TiraMisu with no alcohol. I didn't add alcohol as my kids are a big fan of desserts.

Happy 68th Birthday Mommy!

No doubt, I must say.........Elaine's Tiramisu Is Delicious! Oh boy, I am proud of myself that all my effort & hard work working in Elaine's Kitchen had ended with a HUGE SMILE. I brought it to sleep. WinK*

Enjoy viewing d photos.

Fruits on an empty stomach?

Hey, something interesting - Its a copied & paste article. Check it out -

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.
What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.
If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.
FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.
In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....
So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining — every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc — actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!
Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.
There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.
When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.
But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene — the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.
Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.
A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.
A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

Having a Good Hair Day?

Firstly, I would like to start it off with - Eating Habits - Eating healthy makes 'Hair' stronger, fuller, healthier & hair growth will improve.

Have any of you experienced Fungus on your scalp? U'd be like...What on earth am I talking about!?! Yes, It has happened to me. I am here to share this with all of you if u have such experience & totally have no clue how to fight it off. How did it start? I did a research on it & it is caused by 'Humidity'. Each time after you shower & no matter how clean it is, there are still some leftover sticky residue on the crown of the head. Arrggh! Bad hair for d rest of d day! This is so frustrating! Even visiting Salon for treatment doesn't help! I've even read that some will wash their hair with washing detergent & it still doesn't go off! Someone actually suggested trying 'Listerine' mouth wash on d scalp.. And guess what? Caught me by surprise, it make wonders! It worked! Not just by 1 wash...at least 4-5 washes after...

Step 1, Massage Listerine on d crown of your head. Pour 8-10 caps.
Step 2, Leave on for about 15minutes to kill d Fungus.
Step 3, Rinse with luke warm water
Step 5, Shampoo & Conditioner. Voila!
Step 6, Go for Herbal Shampoos to avoid Fungus on scalp.

Make your hair smell fresher by choosing a scented conditioner. Imagine, one's hair is long & silky...but smells like garbage? LOL! When u apply conditioner, apply to d lower half of hair for detangled & smoother silkier hair. Do not apply conditioner on d scalp to avoid oiliness. Do not skip conditioner if your hair is long. This applies to shoulder lenght hair & below.
I have also read that our hair could be damaged by sleeping & tossing on our pillows! Oh dear! I do not know if it is purely 'marketing gimmick'...but they do offer 'repair range' for hair while we are asleep. Pamper our skin...Pamper our Hair too!
Apparently, it helps to prevent hair breakage, split ends, tangles & dryness. Any of you have tried this range? Feedback appreciated*

Even stress or excitement could actually make hair drop! Key is...relax! Take it easy. That is why, Salon has offered 'Relaxation Hair Treatment'.....aaahhhhhhhh.......

I tend to brush my hair before shampooing daily. Any of you practise this step? It seems it will get rid of any hair residue & detangle your hair after wash. Even after shower, it is important to dry your hair before brushing. Thus, if u brush while it is wet, it will caused hair breakage. Ain't it fragile?

Nevertheless....Treat our hair like gold! They make us Beautiful! Am I right? Whatever Hair length you have, just give your Best Smile :D
