Mariposa: Rebak Island, Langkawi

It was January 2009 when we decided to go for a Beach Getaway. Just 3 months after giving birth to my youngest son. Sorry son, we couldn't bring you along as you were way too tiny & fragile for d beaches! I needed a real Getaway! From d airport, it is a 5 minutes ride to d Port where we had to take a speed boat, roughly 10 minutes to d Beautiful Rebak Island.

Upon arrival, we were being chauffered in a buggy from d jetty to d hotel lobby. Yes, we could walk but with my daughter.....We prefer d buggy ride. Oh, bear in mind that d airport is very close to Rebak Island. So we could actually hear d aircrafts from our chalet. But it did not affect our 4-day Holiday. It wasn't that bad though.

Rebak Island is a private secluded Island. It is surrounded by jungle & forest as old as 100 million years! Yes, alot of monkey noises & birds chirping non-stop too..even at night..creepy;p Thankfully my daughter was extremely tired with day activities to be awaken by d noises.

We had a great Sea view! We could actually see a group of Otters swimming around our island! Family of 6. But we weren't so lucky to catch a glimpse of Dolphins.

The pool is huge & Beach was simply excellent! Could still remember we got so tan that my daughter went at least 3 shades darker. We practically threw ourselves out in d pool & beach throughout d entire holiday. We had good pizza's, club sandwiches, burgers, chachos & many more exciting food & beverages just by d pool.

Restaurants were good yet rather pricey though. On our second last day, we actually packed KFC right after our 'Cable Car' ride. Oh, hubs rented a car so we could Tour De Langkawi * We had to park d car at d Port before we could hop on to our speed boat back to Rebak Island.
If you are looking for a perfect Getaway........Come to Rebak Island! Just so you know, we didn't want to leave.......It is just 'Perfect!'
